FOOTBALL GISTS:

#News: Arsenal agrees to sell RVP to Man Utd-#MUFC have put together an astonishing £73 million package in order to sign Robin van Persie from #AFC
The 29yrs old Dutchman who scored 37 goals last season is due in Manchester for a medical on Thursday afternoon before he puts pen to paper on a four-year contract understood to be worth £235,000-a-week once image rights are taken into account.
This means he will earn £12.2m-a-year, a whopping £48.9m over the course of his United contract. The 19-time English champions will spend a grand total of £72.9m on the former Feyenoord man.
#News: Louis Saha joins Sunderland: Sunderland has signed Louis Saha on a free transfer from Totteham Hotspurs. The 34yr old former #MUFC striker signed a 1yr contact with the Black-cats after being released by Totteham.
#News: Arsenal agree to sell Song for £15m- After confirming the departure of their captain RVP, #AFC are on the verge of agreeing a £15m deal to sell Alex Song to Barcelona. Although this is still assumed to be a rumour.
#BreakingNews: I Wish I sol RVP to PSG not MUFC:
Arsene Wenger has revealed how he tried to avoid selling skipper Robin van Persie, to another Premier League side, but failed. Wenger says he would have preferred to do business with a foreign team.“We wanted to avoid that at all cost, but we weren’t able to,” Wenger told French TV station TF1.
“Honestly, I’d have preferred to sell him abroad, to PSG, for example, over Manchester United."
“They have the advantage of having played against him and knowing his great class. He’s truly an exceptional player in every sense of the word.”
And my friend @superflynico has this to say :
WHO DO THINK WILL WIN THE BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE?- Man Utd,Man City,Arsenal or Chelsea. My money is on Manchester United, with the acquistion of RVP ,Kagawa and Nick Powell they have the best squad to wrestle the title from #MCFC.Don't get me wrong,#MCFC are also strong contenders for the title but with no major aquisitions this summer I believe they'll find it difficult to retain the title,so they'll be the runner-up this season. As for Chelsea =D ,after the the departure of Drogba no reliable striker has been signed. I don't belief the £50m flop will be able 2 fire to glory cuz they wuldnt be so lucky this season #noMoreDrogbaJazz:D . As for Asernal *smh*,they have serious issues. I don't know if I should call it stingyness or mere stupidity. ARSENE WENGER Plssss spend!!! I don't think they have a shot at the title,so Arsenal fans keep jonzing cz no trophy for that Club till get have children.=))

#POLITICS:
GOVERNMENT WELCOMES BOKO HARAM'S READINESS FOR DIALOGUE :
The Federal Government yesterday reaffirmed its readiness to dialogue with the Boko Haram sect to end the violence in the country, particularly in the northern region.
Minister of Information Labaran Maku said government from outset is open to dialogue.
“We have heard the news. The position of government from the beginning has been that we are prepared to negotiate and dialogue with members of this group because we believe they are Nigerians and they are our children."
“It is a known fact that violence has disrupted social and economic activities in some parts of Northern Nigeria."
“We have accepted dialogue as a way of bringing the situation to an end as quickly as possible."
“We have always called on those engaging in violence to stop because violence can’t solve any problem. So we welcome the decision to dialogue,” he said.
